The Schuylkill River is gearing up for another exciting season of rowing, and the Schuylkill Navy is here to make sure every rower — from novice to elite — is prepared and informed.
River Access & Conditions
As always, rowing is governed by the USGS flow threshold. Rowing is prohibited when river flow exceeds 18,000 cubic feet per second. Novices should avoid conditions above 8,000 CFS. You can monitor live conditions via the USGS water data portal linked on our Safety page.
Permit Reminders
All organized events on the Schuylkill River require a permit from the PA Fish & Boat Commission. Member clubs hosting regattas should ensure permits are secured well in advance. Contact Bonnie Mueller at bmueller81@me.com with scheduling questions.
First Events of 2025
The Main Line Slide kicks things off January 26, followed by the Center City Slam in February and the Philadelphia Indoor Classic later that month. Check the River Schedule page for the full calendar.
We look forward to a safe, competitive, and inclusive 2025 season. See you on the water.
